AudioCodes has collaborated with Microsoft to provide enterprises with a smooth migration from the world of separated telephony and IT environments to the world of Unified Communications.

AudioCodes offers Enterprise customers a key component in the unified telephony network – the media gateway - which connects Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R1 & R2, Microsoft Communications Server "14" and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 & 2010 to the existing legacy telephony PBX and the PSTN.

AudioCodes Mediant Media Gateways are cost-effective VoIP media gateways utilizing cutting-edge technology. Intelligently packaged in a stackable 1U chassis they are designed to interface between Enterprise legacy telephony & IP networks.

AudioCodes Supports Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2

As part of our collaboration with Microsoft, we have successfully completed interoperability and certification tests for our Media Gateways: Mediant 1000, Mediant 2000 and MediaPack 11x for the latest Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2. We currently ship all products with this latest firmware, Release 5.6. Existing customers are welcome to upgrade their installed base with this latest version.

AudioCodes Supports Microsoft Communications Server "14"

With the introduction of Microsoft Communications Server “14” and the Survivable Branch Appliance, customers will be able to upgrade their AudioCodes Gateways to support the Survivable Branch Appliance features. AudioCodes Mediant 1000 and Mediant 2000 are field upgradable to "Survivable Branch Appliances". Currently shipping "Basic Hybrid Gateways R2" gateways can be upgraded with "Survivable Branch Appliance" software, once it is released to market by Microsoft.

AudioCodes UcSIPT Connects Securely Microsoft Unified Communication Networks with SIP Trunking Service Providers

As enterprises are becoming more comfortable with the use of SIP Trunking as a low-cost alternative to legacy telecom services, and with the accelerated adoption of Microsoft Communication Server worldwide. The value of SIP Trunking in Microsoft UC environment is gradually becoming the preferred solution for enterprise voice services.

Using AudioCodes integral Session Border Controllers capabilities, customers can now transparently and securely connect their Microsoft UC environment to any SIP Service provider they desire. The connection between the Enterprise Microsoft environment and SIP Trunking service providers is enabled by AudioCodes Enterprise products enabled with full featured Enterprise-class Session Border Controller including Access Control, Encryption and Authentication, Topology Hiding, VoIP firewall and deep packet inspection. These field-proven products can also be used as Microsoft “Basic” Gateways, “Basic Hybrid” gateways, “Enhanced” gateways, as well as “Survivable Branch Appliances”. The AudioCodes products support the SIP Trunking secured connection, as well as a variety of TDM PBX and PSTN interface types, providing high quality, secured, survivable and manageable VoIP service for the enterprise, fully integrated into the Microsoft environment.

Media Gateways for Microsoft Unified Communications Scalability

The AudioCodes MediaPack and Mediant Media Gateways support different standalone and modular configurations, enabling the connection of the Microsoft Unified Communications solution to different models of PBXs using different types of telephony interfaces, including E1/T1/J1 spans, BRI interfaces and/or analog ports in various FXO/FXS configurations.

In addition, the AudioCodes Mediant 1000 and the Mediant 2000 Media Gateways can be ordered as “Basic Hybrid Gateways”, supporting an integrated Microsoft Mediation Server. The Mediant 1000 and Mediant 2000 are also field upgradeable to support Microsoft "Survivable Branch Appliance" solution.

Support of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 & 2010,  Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R1 & R2 and Microsoft Communications Server "14"

The Mediant Media Gateways can support the connection to legacy PBXs and PSTN, both for Exchange Server Unified Messaging deployments and Office Communications Server deployments. Enterprises can smoothly migrate from isolated telephony and IT environments, and connect their legacy PBXs to the Microsoft Exchange Server as well as to the Microsoft Office Communications Server , allowing full implementations of Unified Messaging and Unified Communications in the enterprise.

Ultimately, the organization can migrate to a pure-IP environment, using  Communications Server "14" as the communications platform, connecting to the PSTN via the AudioCodes Mediant Media Gateways.
