Analog Media Gateways

During the recent CeBIT and VON exhibitions, AudioCodes announced new analog VoIP media gateways. The MediaPack 112, MediaPack 114 and MediaPack 118 are the latest members of the analog media gateway product line addressing the requirements of service providers and enterprises seeking high-quality, cost-effective, analog media gateways. The MediaPacks enable a wide range of applications including converged access, IP-Centrex, fixed-mobile convergence, and next generation PBXs. The new MediaPacks have been designed to fit the requirements of service providers developing MTU and Hosted Services applications. Dense residential areas present an opportunity for gateway installation within the complex, the wiring closet of the building, or in the street cabinet. These installations serve MTUs by providing them VoIP services. Service Providers can take advantage of the growth of broadband access by offering enterprises MediaPacks to enable VoIP using their existing phones, key systems and PBXs. Enterprises moving to IP-PBX platforms can benefit from local PSTN connectivity and legacy PBXs that interconnect using the MediaPacks.

The MediaPack 112, 114 and 118 provide support for 2, 4 and 8 ports of FXS and FXO interfaces. Based on AudioCodes' acclaimed VoIPerfect architecture, the new media gateways were built on the basis of AudioCodes' extensive market experience with its other analog media gateways. The MP-112, MP-114 and MP-118 incorporate the technology that achieved outstanding voice quality results in the latest Speech Quality Test Event held by ETSI. (European Telecommunication Standards Institute). The MediaPack gateways provide superb voice quality and excellent reliability for connecting legacy telephony equipment. They are designed and tested to be fully interoperable with many of the VoIP network equipment deployed in the market. Simultaneous mixed interfaces of FXS and FXO, survivability, guaranteed QoS, security and standard billing interfaces are examples of additional features in the new hardware and software of the MediaPack product line. Integration with AudioCodes' Element Management System allows fast deployment and maintenance of large and complex networks for large-scale Service Provider deployments.
