Glentel

Glentel implemented a unified communications solution based on Microsoft® Office Communications Server 2007 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. Now employees collaborate and use their time more efficiently with streamlined communications tools, and a more controlled communications environment strengthens security and regulatory compliance. The company will reduce costs by eliminating the need for external conferencing services, all using AudioCodes Mediant 1000 Media Gateways.

"The company installed Office Communications Server 2007 on a server computer running the Windows Server® 2003 Enterprise Edition operating system. Because Glentel wanted to implement software-powered voice over IP (VoIP) capabilities, it installed a mediation server and a Mediant 1000 gateway from AudioCodes. AudioCodes gateways provide high performance and voice quality, and they easily integrate with Microsoft software. The gateways can support Exchange Server 2007, Office Communications Server 2007, and Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) connections simultaneously. The gateway was easy to install, and it gave Glentel options for both analog and digital connections to the PSTN. As a result, the company could begin the pilot with four analog lines connected directly to the PSTN while it upgraded its existing PBX system."
