Analog Gateway
Analog Gateway - Definition
An analog Media Gateway typically connects residential, SMB or enterprise telephony equipment to the service provider VoIP network using an analog connection. This is done by converting the existing TDM interfaces such as FXS, FXO or E&M to VoIP. An analog gateway can connect to existing legacy PBXs using FXO interfaces, providing a trunk connection into the PSTN, or alternatively connects analog phones, faxes and modems directly into the VoIP network using FXS interfaces.
