This quarter is not just another exciting period in the MediaPack business – it also marks the end of an excellent year. This quarter sets a new level of requirement from the R&D, customer support, production, sales and marketing departments in AudioCodes. Addressing the growth is a challenging task which we are striving to complete successfully. With the current stream of orders and new design wins, we are sure that we will continue to be successful next year.
Converged access is one of the most widely deployed applications of the MediaPacks. Converged access enables alternate carriers to provide telephony service to business customers. Using the MediaPacks, the service provider leverages its data service to offer a lucrative voice service. Converged access not only generates a new revenue stream for service providers but it also gives them a better hold of the customer. The business customer enjoys reliable communication from a single provider without compromising on quality. Appealing offerings and advanced services combine into a winning strategy for the alternate carrier.
Converged access offerings from AudioCodes are comprised of the MediaPack family of analog gateways, the Mediant 2000 digital gateway and AudioCodes Element Management System (EMS). The MediaPack family offers diverse analog channel densities from 2 to 24 ports. The Mediant 2000 offers diverse digital trunk densities from 1 to 16 trunks. Both are based on field-proven and best-of-breed VoIP technology. The versatile offering provides an extensive solution for connecting analog terminals, PBXs and key systems to the IP network using FXO, FXS or E1/T1/J1 interfaces. AudioCodes analog and digital media gateways support class 5 features, remote management, and lifeline phone connectivity in case of network or power failover (for the MediaPack family).
AudioCodes gateways connect with Ethernet, making them transport layer agnostic. Customers can be accessed through any access method including: leased line, DSL, fiber, wireless, cable, satellite or cellular. One of the technological challenges set by the converged access architecture is NAT and firewall traversal. AudioCodes media gateways are interoperable with leading session border controllers to assure NAT and firewall traversal. AudioCodes is continuously investing in interoperability with its softswitch partners, assuring seamless connectivity and fast service setup. Adding AudioCodes element management systems to the network will make a difference. AudioCodes EMS enables the provisioning and managing of a large network comprising of AudioCodes analog and digital media gateways. The EMS follow FCAPS concept to provide a comprehensive management solution.
