In this edition of the NextGen News, I’ve chosen to write about how the new TP-6310 board supporting 2016 LBR channels over a single STM1 interface enables AudioCodes to dramatically expand the capacity range of the existing Mediant 5000 and Mediant 8000 platforms. |

Notes: * Heat dissipation limitations: The limitations of four TP-6310 boards on the Mediant 5000 and nine TP-6310 boards on the Mediant 8000 are due to heat dissipation. These limitations should be eased in future releases. ** The Mediant 5000 & 8000 with the TP-6310 boards are available with MGCP or MEGACO control. The Mediant was originally named after the musical term which represents the third note of the scale, based on its position halfway between the tonic and the dominant. Perhaps aptly branded for its original position in the market place, somewhere between end users and top tier OEMs, today the market register has been extended in range of markets as well as in richness and sophistication; as well as capacity. What do I mean by this extended metaphor? Simply speaking, growth of the Mediant family of products has developed not just in terms of numbers or repeat clients but also in terms of growth of install bases, the richness and sophistication of the customers and the increased capacity of the gateways. As a music scholar cannot cover all the genres in one review, I have covered only a few reasons why the Mediant 5000 and 8000 are smooth to “tune” for customer applications. Rich and sophisticated tones and increased capacity of the Mediant family have conducted rich and sophisticated customer opportunities. Let the music play on. |
