During the 2006 Spring VON conference in San Jose, CA, the AudioCodes Blade Business Line introduced its newest entry to the AudioCodes high-density cPCI line - the TP-6310/T3. This new platform brings industry-leading three T3 interface media gateway product to OEMs and systems integrators that require very high-density media gateway blades.
TP-6310/T3
Applications for the TP-6310/T3 include IMS, toll bypass, voice over broadband (VOB), fixed mobile convergence, large contact center and IVR solutions. The TP-6310/T3 is ideally suited for applications where a full-featured and intelligent media gateway resource is required and density is a priority.
Leveraging increased density in a new family of TI DSP processors, the TP-6310/T3 delivers a full 2016 channels of media gateway functionality and can terminate up to three T3 PSTN interfaces on a single PICMG 2.16 cPCI slot. For those applications with lower density requirements, the TP-6310/T3 is also available in reduced-density single or dual T3 interface versions.
In each of the product versions, all of the available channels can perform full media gateway functionality including complex echo cancellation, tone detection/generation and voice coding algorithms supporting a range of low bit rate coders including G.723.1, G.729 with no reduction in density.
The TP-6310/T3 increases density and reduces costs for the customer by reducing the net cost per media gateway port and eliminates expensive T3 to T1 multiplexer equipment, cabling and connectors.
Sharing the unique architecture of the entire AudioCodes TrunkPack™ line, the
TP-6310/T3 supports a number of on-board control protocols including SIP, MGCP, TGCP, Megaco and AudioCodes’ API. This unique architecture allows individual cPCI blades to act as independent network elements, taking command and control from a Softswitch or Proxy element via the on-board dual Ethernet interfaces.
On the PSTN side, the TP-6310/T3 is compatible with a range of legacy TDM network protocols including ISDN PRI, a range of CAS variants, SIGTRAN and others.
Software developers will be happy to learn that the TP-6310/T3 shares common control protocol software with a number of other AudioCodes products including the TP1610, MediaPack and Mediant families, speeding the integration process and simplifying the expensive testing procedures. By providing a similar web-based administration, technicians will recognize the management interface and thus require less re-training.
