Scale Up As Your Business Grows
The AudioCodes Mediant 1000 Media Gateway supports different modular configurations, enabling the connection of the Microsoft Unified Communications solution to different models of PBXs using different types of telephony interfaces, including E1/T1/J1 spans, BRI interfaces and/or analog ports in various FXO/FXS configurations. It can also connect directly to IP-PBXs and SIP Trunk Service Providers.
In addition, the AudioCodes Mediant™ 1000 and the Mediant™ 2000 Media Gateways can be ordered as “Basic Hybrid Gateways”, supporting an integrated Microsoft Mediation Server, with up to 120 RTA channels.
Support of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 & Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007
The Mediant 1000 Media Gateway can support the connection to legacy PBXs and PSTN, both for Exchange Server 2007 Unified Messaging deployments and Office Communications Server 2007 deployments. Enterprises can smoothly migrate from isolated telephony and IT environments, and connect their legacy PBXs to the Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 as well as to the Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, allowing full implementations of Unified Messaging and Unified Communications in the enterprise.
Ultimately, the organization can migrate to a pure-IP environment, using the Office Communications Server 2007 as the communications platform, connecting to the PSTN via the AudioCodes Mediant 1000 Media Gateway.
Interface Modules
The Mediant 1000 matches the density requirements for small locations while meeting enterprises demands for scalability. The compact Mediant 1000 Modular Gateway is extremely scalable and supports multiples of 1, 2, or 4 E1/T1/J1 spans, 4 to 20 BRI ports or 1 to 24 analog ports in various FXO/FXS configurations. The Mediant 1000 also supports mixed digital/analog with media processing capabilities such as conferencing, play/record configurations.
- Digital (E1/T1/J1) – connecting the PSTN or PBX to the IP-network
- Analog FXS – connecting analog phones and fax machines to the IP-network
- Analog FXO – connecting analog lines from the Central Office (CO) or PBX to the IP network
- BRI – connecting to PBXs or the PSTN
3rd Party Application Platform
The Mediant 1000 extends the flexibility of the Media Gateway family with additional deployment options. The open platform on the Mediant 1000 offers partners the option to host their own applications (e.g., IP-PBX, call center, conferencing and messaging applications) using the OSN (Open Solution Network) Server platform, including a powerful processor and hard disks to
provide a complete solution within the Mediant 1000 chassis along with rich SIP gateway features. In the case of the Microsoft "Basic Hybrid Gateway" configuration, the OSN Server hosts the Microsoft Mediation Server software, supporting up to 16 simultaneous RTA sessions.
