Contact center operators worldwide are beginning to appreciate the benefits of moving to IP-based systems. However, for many organizations, the prospect of making the move from traditional telephony to an IP-based system can be quite daunting. In addition to the core call center control system, various other elements must be selected in order to complete the implementation. These elements include media gateways and IP phones (both hard and soft phones) which may be available from a variety of vendors. Achieving a successful deployment of such a multi-vendor deployment can be a very tricky undertaking. A great deal of interoperability testing is needed to ensure that all the various elements of the solution work together seamlessly, something that many organizations could not afford in terms of both time and expense. In order to overcome this challenge, Genesys has developed its SIP Select program. Genesys SIP Select features the Genesys SIP Reference Architecture with a commonly integrated IP contact center solution built upon an open, standards-based SIP interoperability around the Genesys SIP Server. This solution suite provides a tight integration to ensure smooth deployment and fewer implementation hassles. In addition, there is collaborative support between Alcatel-Lucent/Genesys and partners to expedite issue resolutions.

AudioCodes Mediant Media Gateways chosen for Genesys SIP Select

AudioCodes Mediant 1000 and 2000 media gateways are the only gateway devices to have been included in the Genesys SIP Select program, providing the essential interface between the IP-based contact center and existing TDM-based PBXs and the PSTN. AudioCodes media gateways are field-proven devices with support for a comprehensive range of telephony protocols and interfaces, making them suitable for deployment in nearly every possible environment. What is more, the Mediant 1000 platform can be upgraded to a fully-fledged enterprise session border controller (E-SBC) using the same hardware. In a contact center deployment, the E-SBC functionality provides secure and reliable interconnection with SIP trunks, as well as enabling remote agents to connect seamlessly to the central Contact Center servers. By deploying AudioCodes Mediant 1000 and 2000 media gateways, Genesys customers can be reassured that the interconnection between the Genesys Contact Center and traditional TDM networks is fully and reliably supported.
