Enterprise UC and PBX Connectivity

Enterprise Branch Survivability

Ensuring communications continuity is critical for enterprises deploying centralized IP-PBX or unified communications solutions. Remote branch locations risk losing all voice services, including internal calls and PSTN breakout in cases of WAN outages or other losses of connectivity with the central servers.

AudioCodes devices are designed to provide multiple layers of survivability for enterprise branch offices:

  • Resilient platforms
  • Automatic Service Rerouting
  • Standalone Survivability (SAS) for local agents

Resilient Platforms

AudioCodes Mediant Enterprise Session Border Controllers (E-SBCs) and media gateways offer a robust architecture meeting enterprises requirements for high availability. AudioCodes’ products offer a variety of high availability options, enabling enterprises to choose the most cost-effective solution for their needs.

Automatic Service Rerouting

In case of a network element failure, the AudioCodes Mediant platform, with previously registered endpoints, searches for alternate or backup servers to take over call control. If no alternate servers are available the AudioCodes platforms can use their own inherent fallback mechanism to maintain PSTN/ITSP connectivity.

Standalone Survivability

AudioCodes’ Standalone Survivability (SAS) application is embedded in the Mediant product lines of Enterprise Session Border Controllers (E-SBCs) and media gateways. In the event of a WAN link failure or an unavailable central server, SAS takes over call control and allows the AudioCodes Mediant platform to perform backup call processing with support sites with hundreds of users. During such a communication failure, the Mediant platform maintains voice call service capabilities for internal calls and PSTN or ITSP breakout.
