AudioCodes, a leading provider of converged voice solutions that enable enterprises and service providers to transition to all-IP voice networks, today announced that American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM), a global Tier-One automotive supplier of driveline and drivetrain systems, has completed a global migration of their communications systems from legacy Nortel PBXs to Microsoft Lync, utilizing AudioCodes Mediant networking solutions and professional services.

AAM is a leading, global Tier-One automotive supplier of driveline and drivetrain systems and related components for light trucks, SUVs, passenger cars, crossover vehicles and commercial vehicles with a regionally cost competitive and operationally flexible global manufacturing, engineering and sourcing footprint. AAM is a multi-billion dollar company with a footprint that has more than 30 facilities around the world.

With a goal to avoid costly upgrades of their aging Nortel PBX systems and reduce conferencing service costs, AAM initiated a search for a new state-of-the-art Unified Communications system, eventually selecting Microsoft Lync and AudioCodes Mediant networking equipment for their global deployment.

“As a result of our migration to Microsoft Lync, we’ve avoided costly upgrade fees and significantly reduced our audio conferencing costs, with all of the savings going directly to the bottom line of American Axle,” said Jeff Bryngelson, Global Network & Communications Manager at American Axle & Manufacturing. “AudioCodes played a key role in enabling our migration to Microsoft Lync and has helped us prepare for our Skype for Business implementation in the future.”

“We are especially pleased to be a part of American Axle & Manufacturing’s communications transformation,” said Nimrode Borovsky, Vice President of Marketing, AudioCodes. “The cost savings realized by American Axle demonstrates the ROI often found in Lync implementations, enabled by AudioCodes’ networking equipment and professional services.”
