Texas Instruments and AudioCodes Jointly Promote Voice over IP Processors for Range of VoIP Applications

may. 25, 2005

DALLAS and Lod, Israel (May 25, 2005) – Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) [NYSE:TXN], the world leader in digital signal processors (DSPs) and AudioCodes (NASDAQ: AUDC), a leading provider of Voice over Packet (VoP) technologies and Voice Network products, announced today that they will jointly promote AudioCodes’ Voice over IP (VoIP) processors, based on TI DSPs.  This announcement furthers the two companies’ longstanding relationship and enables AudioCodes to provide the highest quality VoIP solutions to their customers more quickly and efficiently.
“AudioCodes considers the recent acceleration of VoIP adoption in the market an excellent opportunity to utilize TI’s proven power to enhance the promotion of our solution,” said Shaul Weissman, Managing Director of VoP Processors at AudioCodes. “Combining our field-proven, diverse and more than eight year-old VoIP solution with optimized silicon from the leading DSP vendor offers OEMs a very high level of confidence as to the quality and roadmap of our products.”
AudioCodes has a wide variety of solutions for Voice over IP applications, starting from the AC494 System on a Chip for IP phones and CPE, through the AC490, an 8 and 12 channel DSP for IP-PBX applications, and up to 64 and 102 channels in the AC491 for digital gateways and carrier grade equipment. As these solutions are based on TI’s TMS320C55x™ DSP generation and share uniform API software, vendors can develop a wide variety of VoIP solutions based on the same state-of-the-art hardware and software.

“As a valued TI DSP customer, AudioCodes has been successfully selling VoIP solutions for almost a decade,” said Ashley Johnston, director of business development, TI’s communications infrastructure group. “By joining forces in promoting AudioCodes’ solution, and having our DSPs form the basis for many of their products, TI will continue to serve the fast growing market for VoIP applications in broader ways than ever before.”

As a leading provider of VoIP technology, TI has shipped over 125 million VoIP ports worldwide for the IP phone, customer premise equipment (CPE) gateway and high-density infrastructure markets.  Products incorporating TI’s technology are deployed by service providers throughout the world and power billions of minutes of VoIP calls every month.

AudioCodes and TI launched their recent cooperation with a joint seminar in Israel that will continue in the Far East and Europe during the latter half of the year.  More information will be available at the companies’ respective websites: www.ti.com/voip and www.audiocodes.com
