Lod, Israel, March 2, 2009 - AudioCodes (NasdaqGS: AUDC), a leading provider of Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies and Voice Network products, today announced the successful testing and implementation of its Stand Alone Survivability feature by Alcatel-Lucent.
With the increased demand for large scale, distributed IP Telephony Enterprise networks, survivability becomes a key feature for IP telephony vendors, systems integrators and end customers. AudioCodes’ SAS feature integrated in the MediaPack™ product family enables Stand Alone Survivability of enterprise branch offices in the case of an IP network failure.
Stand Alone Survivability, supported by the MediaPack family is adding telephony services backup to IP Phones in remote locations. SAS support for the MediaPack is fully integrated with the Alcatel-Lucent Omni PCX Release 9.0 and IP Touch 8 series phones with SIP survivability.
“SAS is one of the most significant features of our Media Gateway range, and a major sales enabler of our MediaPack product family,” stated Lior Aldema, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management, at AudioCodes. “Together with our high voice quality, advanced features and routing capabilities, the Survivability features enhance the productivity of distributed enterprises.”
According to Alcatel-Lucent, AudioCodes’ MediaPacks with the SAS feature are complementing their Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise safe branch office offering and provide an effective solution for small voice branch offices.
AudioCodes will be exhibiting at the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Forum 2009, Le Palais des Congrès, Paris, France, March 4-5 2009 at the Alliance and Application Partner Village in booth #AA04.
