When Microsoft’s Perimeta session border controller (SBC) approached end-of-life, Deutsche Telekom needed a fast replacement – without disrupting live customers. That meant rolling out a fully compliant, next-gen solution under tight deadlines, while keeping everything running smoothly.

Seamless SBC-Based Modernization for Teams Phone Mobile
AudioCodes was chosen to deliver the new solution, bringing deep expertise in Microsoft UC and decades of telecom experience. The goal was clear – to fully replace Perimeta while maintaining seamless service for Deutsche Telekom’s customers.
From day one, AudioCodes worked closely with Deutsche Telekom to define exactly what needed to be replicated and where improvements could be made. Drawing on strong experience with Teams Phone Mobile, the team enhanced its SBC firmware to meet strict 3GPP requirements while fitting smoothly into Deutsche Telekom’s existing environment.
The solution is built on AudioCodes Mediant Cloud Edition SBCs, a software-based solution certified for Microsoft Teams, and was deployed across multiple sites for high availability and resilience. These SBCs handle signaling and media between the mobile network and Microsoft Teams, while AudioCodes One Voice Operations Center (OVOC) provides real-time monitoring, provisioning and lifecycle management of the SBC infrastructure.
Despite tight timelines, AudioCodes delivered quickly without cutting corners. Close collaboration throughout design, testing and rollout ensured fast issue resolution and a smooth, reliable deployment aligned with Deutsche Telekom’s operational needs.
