The Mediant 500i functions as both an enterprise session border controller (SBC) and media gateway, providing secure and reliable connectivity between legacy PBXs, IP-PBXs and SIP trunk service providers. It supports consistent high-performance voice and data services while ensuring secure communications for distributed enterprise deployments.
