7月 20, 2009

Lod, Israel – July 20, 2009 – AudioCodes (NasdaqGS: AUDC), a leading provider of Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies and Voice Network products, and MailVision, a leading provider of SIP Mobile Platform for Wireless and NGN Service Providers, today announced the deployment of a Mobile Soft Client (Pico) and a versatile mobile clients’ Distribution Platform to Israel’s leading Mobile service provider, Cellcom. The platform enables Cellcom to offer a new service called Cellcom Link which allows roaming subscribers to initiate voice calls and send text messages (SMS) over a Wi-Fi connection, via their current mobile handsets at highly cost-effective rates.

MailVision’s Pico Client delivers high voice quality to subscribers allowing them to utilize their personal handset and telephone number when travelling abroad. A unique feature that the Pico software supports is the ability to retain a mobile phone’s existing address book contacts, enabling users to conveniently use their regular phone interface. The Mobile Soft Client is interoperable with all major SIP Softswitches and Gateways.

“Mobile operators are now able to offer an alternative to low cost PC based calls,” stated Zeev Lerner, CEO of MailVision. “By selecting to use our advanced mobile VoIP solution platform, Mobile operators can offer roaming end-users the ability to make calls at a significantly reduced rate.”

“We are delighted that Cellcom selected the HD VoIP enabled SIP Mobile Soft Client (Pico) as a new service offering for their subscriber base,” stated Lior Aldema, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at AudioCodes. “This advanced technology will extend Cellcom’s offering to both Residential and Enterprise subscribers travelling abroad, while offering cost-effective rates, intelligibility and enhanced voice clarity.”

“We are constantly searching for advanced communications solutions in order to benefit our customers and offer them innovative technology,” stated Adi Cohen, Vice President of Marketing at Cellcom. “The service is not intended to replace the existing Cellcom Abroad service, rather to serve as an additional solution for customers travelling abroad who make many phone calls with WIFI supported devices and would like to cut costs, while retaining their personal cellphone number.”
