Main Features In This Release:

Enhanced Security in Android OS12

The new release, based on OS12 offers a significantly enhanced security level compared to the previous Android OS9. This upgrade ensures advanced privacy controls, improved data protection, a better app security and also more secure connectivity.

Improved incoming audio performance

This version optimizes audio processing for incoming calls resulting in a significant improvement in call quality. Users now experience a much faster connection so the remote party (the caller) hears the recipient’s voice (the local phone) with noticeably reduced delay.

Capability for admin-defined password complexity has been added

The feature was designed mainly for non-touch screen phones but can also be applied to touch-screen phones. The feature gives admins the ability to finely adjust password complexity, ensuring that customers using low-cost phones (LCPs) can easily input passwords using the phone's hard keys.

AudioCodes Android-based phones now support multicast paging (including barge-in)

in compliance with customer requests, especially customers in the educational market invested in emergency notification systems which use multicast. The new feature allows a call to be paged to a group of phones to notify a team about (for example) the time and place at which a meeting will commence. The paging call is multicast via a designated group IP address, in real time, on all phones in the group.Barge-in enables paging to interrupt (barge in on) phone conversations that are in progress.

Improved out-of-the-box troubleshooting.

Admins can now monitor the status of the various software modules of the device. If initial provisioning is unsuccessful or if admin encounters an issue related to the network / connection to Device Manager, the feature gives admin an indication as to why.

AudioCodes Android devices can configure VLAN via a DHCP Option when CDP/LLDP isn’t allowed in the organization

The following DHCP Options offer a VLAN ID: Option 43, 132, 128, 129, 144, 157, 191. If the device gets more than one of these, it will apply only one according to the aforementioned order of priority.

Power-Saving Mode for the MWI LED and the LCD

This feature automatically activates power-saving mode during non-working hours. By default, during off hours the phone's uppermost-right LED is switched off and the LCD is dimmed. This conserves energy and minimizes light disturbance, providing a seamless and efficient user experience.

[Applies to C455HD and C470HD] USB device mode is available as a Beta feature.

The phone can be connected to a PC via a USB-A Male – USB-A Male cable, allowing it to be used as the PC’s audio device such as an external speaker.

Improvements were made to certificate enrollment using Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol (SCEP).

QoS settings for the PC port are now supported (VLAN for PC port).

A timeout has been added to the Admin login to automatically logout the admin user.

[C470HD] A ‘Switch to Zoom’ operation can no longer be performed from the phone UI

Please contact AudioCodes for more information about performing the operation.
