Orlando, Enterprise Connect, Florida, Lod, Israel – March 1, 2011 – AudioCodes (NasdaqGS: AUDC), a leading provider of Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies and Voice Network products, today announced the launch of MobilityPLUS, an integrated enterprise solution that extends the feature set of Enterprise Telephony and Unified Communications systems to a broad range of leading smart phone platforms. Leveraging existing enterprise WiFi or 3G/4G data services, MobilityPLUS enhances enterprise employee productivity with "anytime/anywhere" connectivity resulting in improved efficiencies of business operations.
MobilityPLUS interoperates with market leading PBXs and IP-PBXs, as well as with integrated Unified Communications systems such as the Microsoft Office Communications Server R2 and Microsoft Lync 2010, allowing businesses to deploy enterprise mobility within their existing Microsoft UC environment. MobilityPLUS includes an Enterprise Edition of the widely deployed AudioCodes VoIP Mobile Access Solutions (VMAS) mobile clients and an AudioCodes Mediant business gateway with an embedded mobility integration application. The VMAS mobile client is available for Apple iOS, Android, Symbian and other popular mobile operating systems, making VMAS compatible with the majority of smart phones in use today.
AudioCodes MobilityPLUS reduces enterprise communications costs through the use of existing corporate WiFi networks, public WiFi or mobile broadband (3G/4G) data plans, reducing the number of mobile voice minutes used while on the premises and eliminating costly roaming charges when traveling. Through an advanced management system, enterprise IT executives can deploy and monitor mobile clients to users, extending their office "one number" to the mobile handset. This allows the enterprise to retain control of the users' business identities, allowing them to be reassigned as staffing changes occur.
"The emerging Enterprise Mobile VoIP Market is expected to grow very quickly along with the growing use of smart phones by enterprise users," said Elka Popova, Program Director at Frost & Sullivan. "Combining a mobile VoIP solution with connectivity to existing TDM and IP communications infrastructure will create great opportunities for enterprises to save costs and increase the productivity of their employees, by utilizing free or flat-rated Wi-Fi and cellular data service plans for business voice communications."
As part of its push to constantly enhance the unified communications proposition, AudioCodes is extending the collaborative benefits of Microsoft Lync to mobile devices. MobilityPLUS enables people to see their colleagues' availability and click to communicate with them using the best method, from instant messaging and e-mailing to texting and making a phone call. The names and status of colleagues are embedded directly into the contacts application of the device, enabling people to update their own presence, start and join instant messaging sessions, and begin calls directly from the contact card.
"Enterprise Mobility is a key growth engine for AudioCodes," stated Nimrod Borovsky, Vice President of Marketing at AudioCodes. "Our global community of Systems Integrators and VARs can now target additional opportunities and leverage their existing investment in AudioCodes' VoIP infrastructure products and technologies. Our TDM and IP interfaces, rich interoperability with key market-leading enterprise telephony vendors and connectivity and security features are all critical for an enterprise mobility solution."
Microsoft Lync is the next generation of Microsoft's unified communications software that enables people to connect in new ways, anytime, anywhere. Lync is the new family brand for the products formerly known as Communications Server, Communications Online and Communicator, and also now includes Lync Web App, and Lync Online. Lync has been designed from the ground up to work with Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Exchange, which helps reduce end-user adoption hurdles and increase return on investment. People can also stay connected to others on a wide range of devices while away from the office and manage their communications and calls in new ways, such as easily moving a call from a PC to a mobile device while leaving the office without disrupting the conversation.
AudioCodes will be exhibiting at Enterprise Connect, Orlando, Florida, February 28 – March 3, 2011 at Booth #1223.
