SUPERCOMM – Chicago, Illinois, and Lod, Israel, June 7, 2005 – AudioCodes (NASDAQ:
AUDC), a leading provider of Voice over Packet (VoP) technologies and Voice Network products and an IBM PartnerWorld member, announced today a collaboration with IBM to deliver IMS standards compatible solutions to carriers. AudioCodes TrunkPack® Media Gateway boards and IPmedia™ media server boards are compatible and achieved full interoperability with the IBM eServer BladeCenter technology to enable delivery of value-added services. Telecom carriers will now be able to offer enhanced applications, including fixed-mobile convergence, messaging, personalized ring back tones, conferencing and multi-party gaming, to their subscribers using a best-of-breed, modular architecture which is IMS compliant. At SUPERCOMM 2005, IBM, AudioCodes and additional partners are demonstrating a working IMS implementation, highlighting the convergence of multiple applications and networks.
AudioCodes blades and voice network products feature best of breed media gateway and media server platforms, which function as core MGW and MRFP elements in a converged network using IMS-based architecture. AudioCodes blades and media gateways (TrunkPack® and Mediant™) are converged media gateways that support a variety of Vocoders and Signaling technologies to comply with a multitude of access networks, such as PSTN, Packet Cable, WiFi, GSM, UMTS, CDMA and 3G networks. AudioCodes media server (IPmedia™) is an MRFP element with a vast support of media processing technologies that together with its partners enables delivery of value-added services. A robust support of Vocoders technology will allow the delivery of these services on a single platform independently of the access network or end user device.
“The desire of carriers today is to deploy networks that are scalable, pay-as-you-grow, modular and permit “mix and match” of services to accommodate the complex environment of applications adoption uncertainties and the variety of emerging access networks,” said Lior Aldema, vice president, marketing at AudioCodes. “The variety of vocoder support, signaling protocols and voice quality of the TP-260 and IPM-260 in combination with platforms such as BladeCenter allow customers to enjoy those benefits”.
The IBM eServer® BladeCenter offers a broad range of networking options integrated into the chassis to simplify infrastructure complexity and manageability while lowering total cost of ownership.
AudioCodes’ TP-260 and IPM-260 boards are both elements of VoIPerfect™, the company’s underlying core media gateway and media server architecture. The TP-260 is a cost-effective, stand-alone single slot PCI “gateway on a blade” that supports up to 8 E1/T1 interfaces and signaling protocols to interconnect with PSTN, Wireless and Broadband networks. The IPM-260, a complete VoIP media server solution, supports up to 240 ports per blade with support of vocoders such as: EVRC, AMR and G.729, to enable next generation applications for both today’s and tomorrow’s networks.
“IBM is strongly committed to working with leading solution providers like AudioCodes to deliver “best of breed” VoIP technologies for the telecommunications industry,” said Juhi Jotwani, director of IBM eServer BladeCenter Alliances. “With this announcement we add yet another leading company to rapid-growing BladeCenter ecosystem. We expect the interoperability of this solution with BladeCenter to enhance the flexibility and scalability of the solutions we offer our carrier and enterprise customers.”
