Lod, Israel - May 3, 2012 - AudioCodes (NasdaqGS: AUDC) - a leading provider of Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies and Voice Network products, today announced that, among vendors reporting publicly, Infonetics Research placed AudioCodes in third place with a 5% share of the 2011 Enterprise Session Border Controller (E-SBC) market.
"E-SBC sales were very strong in 2011, up 60% from 2010, and we expect this market to grow significantly over the coming years,” stated Diane Myers, Principal Analyst, VoIP and IMS at Infonetics Research. “AudioCodes’ installed base of enterprise gateways gives the company a competitive advantage, since it allows users to upgrade to SBC capabilities using existing assets."
According to Infonetics Research’s E-SBC Biannual Worldwide and Regional Market Size and Forecast (1st Edition) from April 2012, the primary driver for E-SBC sales is adoption of SIP trunking services, where E-SBCs are used as a border element between enterprise and service provider networks. A secondary driver is interconnection between disparate systems such as PBX or contact center platforms, where E-SBCs handle interworking between different VoIP protocols or different vendor implementation of standards.
"We are pleased to be acknowledged by Infonetics Research as one of the top vendors in the E-SBC market," announced Nimrod Borovsky, VP Marketing at AudioCodes. "AudioCodes is working with a broad set of unified communications equipment vendors and SIP trunking providers worldwide to ensure secure connectivity and interoperability between enterprises and their service providers."
